Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the annual police conference to be held in Chhattisgarh from November 28 to 30, where important internal security issues will be discussed.
The three-day conference organized by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) aims to review the progress achieved so far in resolving key policing issues and chart a forward-looking roadmap to build a ‘Surakshit Bharat’, a safe India, in line with the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ or developed India, the government said in a statement.
Under the main theme of ‘Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions’, the conference will host detailed discussions on key security issues such as left-wing extremism, counter-terrorism, disaster management, women’s safety and the use of forensics and artificial intelligence in policing.
The 60th edition of the All India Director Generals/Superintendents of Police Conference is being held at the Indian Institute of Management Raipur. The Prime Minister is expected to attend on 29 and 30 November. He will also present the President with the Distinguished Service Medal.

“The conference provides a vital interactive platform for senior Police leaders and security managers from across the country to exchange open and meaningful views on a wide range of national security issues. It also facilitates the discussion of operational, infrastructural and welfare challenges facing police forces, as well as the formulation and sharing of professional practices in fighting crime, maintaining law and order and responding to internal security threats,” the statement said.
Business meetings, breakout interactions, and thematic dinner table discussions offer participants the opportunity to share their perspectives on critical homeland security and policy issues directly with the Prime Minister.
Since 2014, the format of the conference has been continuously developed, including its holding in different parts of the country. The conference was held in Guwahati (Assam), Rann of Kachchh (Gujarat), Hyderabad (Telangana), Tekanpur (Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh), Statue of Unity (Kevadiya, Gujarat), Pune (Maharashtra), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), New Delhi and Jaipur (Rajasthan) and Bhubaneswar (Odisha).
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Ministers of State (Home), DGPs of States/UTs and Heads of Central Police Agencies will attend the conference. To bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table, Home Department heads of States/UTs and some cutting-edge police officers selected from the ranks of DIG and SP will also attend the conference in person this year.
