Police hunting for alleged gunman after supermarket carpark shooting

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a daylight shooting in a supermarket car park.

Nine News footage from the scene in Bayswater, east of Melbourne, showed a man wearing a blood-stained polo shirt clutching his stomach.

Police said it appeared the two men had been arguing before emergency services were called to the incident just before 4pm on Saturday.

The victim was located and suffered a suspected gunshot wound.

No arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
