Rs 27-Crore Solar Scheme Launched in Rayadurg

Kurnool:Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Friday inaugurated the Chief Minister Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana in Nemakallu village of Bommanahal mandal, marking a significant progress towards the adoption of renewable energy in the constituency.
The minister said the scheme will reduce the electricity burden on households and ensure uninterrupted power supply while promoting environmental protection. He said around 2,400 SC and ST beneficiaries in Rayadurg will get free solar power systems with a total cost of 27 million euros and the government will contribute 1.25 lakh per unit.
Ravikumar said OC beneficiaries will get a subsidy of Rs 78,000 and BC beneficiaries will get a subsidy of Rs 98,000, thus providing wider access to clean energy.
Six lakh Surya Ghar connections have been approved across the state and efforts are on to make them operational before summer.
Three new substations have been approved for Rayadurg to address low voltage issues. Infrastructure improvements under the RDSS scheme, including installation of transformers and replacement of old electricity poles, are also ongoing.
MLA Kalava Srinivasulu in his speech highlighted the huge development allocations made to the constituency.
