China Reveals Mysterious J-36 Jet: The Most Advanced UFO-Like Military Aircraft The World Wasn’t Ready For | World News

Beijing: China has officially unveiled its most advanced military aircraft yet. The J-36 is a sleek, tailless sixth-generation stealth fighter. The powerful prototype made a dramatic public flyby escorted by a J-20 chase plane, drawing global attention to Beijing’s accelerating military modernization.

Military analysts say the jet’s emergence marks a new phase in China’s quest for air superiority. Described as “UFO-like” and “one of the most advanced aircraft ever built”, the aircraft showcases the country’s growing ability to produce indigenous technology to rival the West’s defense capabilities.

It was reported that the first test flight took place on December 26, symbolically the birth anniversary of Chairman Mao Zedong, the founder of the People’s Republic of China. Footage of the test quickly went viral, with reports suggesting that the Chinese leadership may have deliberately allowed the test to circulate to showcase national strength and technological advancement.

Observers noted several upgrades over the previous prototype seen in late 2024. The J-36 now features reshaped exhausts, improved landing gear and subtle structural changes; This is a sign that China’s aerospace engineers are methodically fine-tuning its design for stealth and performance.

The tailless configuration of the fighter is particularly important. Rather than using traditional vertical stabilizers, the J-36 relies on advanced onboard computers for stability and control. This approach not only reduces radar visibility, but also increases aerodynamic efficiency, making tracking and interception more difficult.

The J-36 appears to be about 70 feet long, comparable in size to the J-20, according to defense analysts. Distinctive air intakes positioned both on the body and on the sides further contribute to the stealth profile.

Euan Graham of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute said the J-36’s design reflects a new phase of innovation in Chinese aviation. He emphasized that the aircraft demonstrated “the willingness of the Chinese aviation industry to experiment and innovate” and described the model as a “highly original” departure from traditional fighter jet designs.

The statement comes as major powers, including the United States, seek to advance their own sixth-generation fighter jet programs. Expected to define air combat for the next three decades, these jets integrate artificial intelligence, advanced stealth materials, and next-level situational awareness systems. Washington is expected to launch its first operational sixth-generation aircraft by 2030.

For China, the emergence of the J-36 marks more than a new military prototype. This is an expression of technological intent. As one of the few countries able to field such a plane, Beijing has positioned itself at the forefront of the sky race where power, precision and stealth are the ultimate currencies of dominance.
