Supreme Court Bar Association flags low representation of women in higher judiciary

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) made a serious concern about the representation of female judges in the Supreme Court and Supreme Courts.
The decision was accepted by the body of lawyers Vikas Singh, Senior Lawyer Vikas Singh and Secretary Lawyer Priya Baghel.

The appointment of Justice Pancholi, the chief justice of India in 2031 for more than 1.7 years, came despite the lonely opposition of the Supreme Court College member and lonely female top court judge Justice Bv Nagarathna.
The advice of Justice Pancholi, which ranks 57th in the seniority list of high court judges throughout the country, was criticized among leading female lawyers.
