Teenager charged over alleged stabbing attack on mum, sister
A 16-year-old boy was charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his mother to death in Bentley on Tuesday.
The boy was arrested after the 35-year-old woman was found dead at her home in south-east Perth; His 12-year-old sister was found seriously injured after running to a nearby major highway to raise the alarm.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, WA Police Acting Major Crimes Inspector Jessica Securo said the incident was being treated as a suspected domestic violence homicide.
“This incident will have a significant impact on the family, friends and loved ones of everyone involved… our thoughts are with them all, especially the 12-year-old girl,” he said.
He continues to receive treatment in hospital for his injuries. The boy was also charged with attempted unlawful murder for the alleged stabbing attack on his sister.
The 16-year-old is expected to appear in Perth Children’s Court on Wednesday.
