A mini heatwave is expected in Britain this week, with temperatures predicted to reach up to 22C.

Three days of hot weather will impact areas across the country, according to WXCharts weather maps using MetDesk data.

Starting from Tuesday, temperatures will rise above 20C in many regions and temperatures will begin to rise.

The southwest can expect the best of sunny weather, with temperatures of 22 degrees predicted in Somerset and Bristol on Wednesday, April 8, according to maps.

This mini heatwave hits in the middle of the half-term break, then drops significantly again before the weekend.

A Met Office spokesman said: “As Storm Dave moves away and this high pressure builds behind it, we are now pulling in warmer air from the continent.

“It’s one of those seasons where things can change so quickly from day to day.”

The sun will shine across much of the UK on Tuesday, with areas in the south welcoming a welcome 18C.

Cities in the north will also see high temperatures, with Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire expected to reach 19C.

According to forecasters, Wednesday will be the warmest day.

A warmer day is expected in North Cheshire than many areas to the south, with temperatures reaching 20°C. Capital is also likely to reach 20C.

The country is expected to see averages of 19C and 20C across Wales.

Temperatures are starting to drop in some areas on Thursday as a mild chill sneaks up. The southwest is seeing the end of the heatwave but other parts of the south across England remain in the twenties.

The capital is expected to reach 20C again, with Cambridgeshire and Suffolk expected to reach 19C.

According to the Met Office, most places in the UK will experience dry conditions with sunny skies and warmth in the sunshine.

Just before the weekend, it will feel cool again when temperatures reach averages for this time of year.
