Tim Tebow announces his father’s death in emotional post

Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow announced on social media Friday that his father, Bob, has passed away at the age of 78.
“Heaven heralded a hero of the faith when my father was welcomed home last night! Many will grieve your loss, but the truth is he is not lost, we know exactly where he is. He is home. Forever!” Tim Tebow wrote.

In 2016, the former Florida Gators quarterback said in an announcement: interview with people He said his father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

“Last week I asked him what he was most looking forward to about Heaven, and he simply said, ‘Jesus.'” Tim continued, remembering his father. ‘He couldn’t wait to see Jesus face to face. Thank God, his wait is over. Death has been swallowed up in victory. Now he is healed and restored to health. So we don’t mourn like those who have no hope. See you soon, Dad!’
In 1985, Bob and his wife, Pam, moved their young family to Mindanao, Philippines; where Bob’s goal was to “share the Gospel with every man, woman and child.”
After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, Bob returned to the Philippines to do what he had been doing for years; He visited children in orphanages. “When you see my dad in a third world country, a country that’s hurting people, you say, ‘This is what he’s supposed to do,'” Tim told PEOPLE in 2015. “This is the most comfortable place in the world for him to be.”
