Family says Indian Idol winner ‘slept well at night but…’

Prashant Tamang was 43 years old at the time of his death.

Shocking his fans and association members, singer and actor Prashant Tamang passed away at the age of 43 on Sunday, January 11. It is suspected that he had a heart attack. Delhi Police said in a statement that Tamang was brought to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital by her husband, where the examining doctor declared her dead. His body was later transferred to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital for autopsy.

According to the police, the actor’s family said Tamang slept well at night but did not wake up in the morning. Born in Darjeeling, West Bengal, Tamang became a household name after winning the third season of the popular music reality show Indian Idol. He returned to the limelight with his role as a sniper in the second season of Prime Video web show Paatal Lok.
