‘Rewarding separatists, torturing patriots’ has stopped in J&K: Manoj Sinha

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, said that the practice of “rewarding separatists and torturing patriots” has been completely stopped in the Union Territory.
Speaking at an event to commemorate Constitution Day in Jammu, Mr. Sinha said, “After a long wait of 67 years, the provisions of the Constitution were made fully applicable to J&K in 2019, putting an end to the rule of discrimination and injustice. To those who ask what has been achieved in the last five years, I want to say that the practice of rewarding separatists and torturing patriots has been completely stopped.”
“J&K is now guided by the ideals of equality, social and economic justice that Babasaheb Ambedkar enshrined in the Constitution,” he said.
“From day one, my mission in J&K has been to improve the lives of our citizens, eliminate discrimination and injustice, dismantle the terror ecosystem and ensure that the benefits of Central schemes reach the lowest strata of society,” the LG said.
Mr. Sinha said that with the implementation of all provisions of the Constitution, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured honor, pride and dignity for every brother and sister of J&K.
“For 76 years, the Constitution has been a beacon of equality, freedom and social justice and a guiding light for the citizens of this great country,” he added.
“Our Constitution, which has paved the way for India’s progress, is venerable. We must keep national unity and integrity intact. We must create a sense of self-reliance and self-respect in the society and every means and resources should be used to make India strong and self-reliant,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He also led the reading of the ‘Preamble to the Constitution’ on the occasion and paid tribute to the founding fathers and architects of the Constitution of India.
