Ambitious Sarah Ferguson masterplan to be ‘next Oprah Winfrey’ | Royal | News

It has been claimed that Sarah Ferguson was once expected to become a “chat show host” like Oprah Winfrey. The former Duchess of York, whose reputation has hit an all-time low in recent months, has had an interesting career since divorcing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in 1996.
After her time as royal consort came to an end, Sarah signed many different deals, from books to brand launches. However, it is believed that there was once a hope that she could become a chat show host like Oprah Winfrey.
This is something Andrew Lownie wrote in his book Title: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.
Here is an excerpt from the book: “As part of a strategy planned by some American tycoons, Sarah was now being promoted as a shrewd businesswoman, author and chat show host.
“They wanted her to appear on Oprah Winfrey, David Letterman and Diane Sawyer, all aiming for exposure that would generate lucrative endorsements and merchandise sales.”
This is believed to be the plan after signing numerous deals, including a memoir deal and advertising deals.
Around the same time, Sarah reportedly signed a deal with Paris Match to interview six celebrities for £10,000 per article.
Dealings would likely have been easier for Sarah as a result of her previous royal marriage.
This was because Epstein files showed he was friends with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein even after he was released from prison for child sex crimes.
Just because it’s in the Epstein files doesn’t mean there was wrongdoing.
