Family remembers ‘fun, bright, handsome boy’, 13, who died in Flitwick crash | UK | News

Family members of a young boy tragically killed in a tragic car crash in Flitwick late on Friday have paid heartfelt tributes as they ask for private time to grieve. Bedfordshire Police said a man and a woman have been charged in connection with the incident.
Noah Campbell, 13, died when a car collided with him and two other teenage boys in Flitwick on Friday night. Two of the children were riding a bicycle and the other was riding a scooter. His family said his death “leaves a void in our lives that will remain forever.” The family of 13-year-old Noah Campbell said: “Above all, Noah valued spending time with his friends and family – they were the heart of his world.
“He was a talented and versatile athlete who excelled in rugby, cricket and athletics, although football was his favorite sport (he played for many local teams). Outside of organized sports, Noah was active and adventurous, loving to challenge himself in the gym and spend time in the cycle park.”
“Some of his happiest memories were enjoying attending Liverpool FC and Luton Town FC matches with his father.
“We would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support during this incredibly difficult time. We are completely devastated; Noah’s death has left a void in our lives that will remain forever.”
Jamie Fountain, 24, of Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, was charged with causing death by careless driving and was also charged with causing death by careless driving while exceeding the legal limit for alcohol and drugs, police said on Sunday.
He was also charged with careless driving causing serious injury in relation to two other children injured in the incident on Greenfield Road on Friday night.
Fountain is also charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Ellie Ireland, 23, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, Bedfordshire, was charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Officers said both were remanded in custody to appear at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Detective Sergeant Shona Searle, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire serious collision investigation unit, said: “This incident has sent shockwaves through the small community of Flitwick and the surrounding area and we are maintaining a community policing presence around the scene to provide reassurance.
“While we understand the strong emotion surrounding the loss of life of a young person and the serious injury of others, we would ask people not to speculate about the circumstances of the situation.
“The families of the victims, whom we support through family liaison officers, have requested that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”
