India among EQT Asia’s strongest exit markets, says co-head Hari Gopalakrishnan

We have 1.5 billion people, which is 18% of the world’s population, meaning one in every five people in the world is in India. The median age is 28, so we have a young population. This young demographic is a structural advantage that will remain in India for decades, so I am optimistic about India. If we look at the short term, we are likely to miss opportunities. The Indian market has the potential to grow more than three times our current levels over the next two decades.
