At least eight shot, including four children, in New York’s Coney Island | New York

At least eight people, including four children, were shot and injured in New York City’s Coney Island neighborhood during the U.S. Independence Day holiday, ABC News said Sunday, citing the New York City police department (NYPD).
In a statement to ABC News, the NYPD stated that police officers responded to reports of a shooting on West 31st Street in the Brooklyn neighborhood at around 10:37 p.m.
Among those injured were two men, two women and four children ages 14, 12, seven and six, according to the news outlet. The NYPD was quoted as saying that all victims were transported to hospitals. It was stated that the condition of seven people was stable, while the condition of a 21-year-old woman was critical.
Police said they found a firearm at the scene but did not make any arrests, according to ABC. The NYPD did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
The 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States was celebrated on Saturday.
