Florida murder suspect allegedly asked ChatGPT how to hide a body

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office located the remains of missing University of South Florida graduate student Zamil Limon, 27, and arrested Hisham Abugharbieh in connection with the disappearances of Limon and Nahida Bristy, 27.

A Florida man accused of killing two University of South Florida graduate students allegedly asked ChatGPT about hiding a body in a dumpster days before the double murders, according to court documents.
Telemarketer Hisham Abugharbieh, 26, is accused of killing his roommate, Zamil Limon, 27, and Limon’s girlfriend, Nahida Bristy, also 27.
Abugharbieh asked the artificial intelligence what would happen if someone threw a bag full of human remains into a trash can, according to a bail filing filed Saturday by Tampa-area prosecutors. When ChatGPT told him the idea seemed dangerous, the suspect said, “How will they find out?” He allegedly replied:
AFTER 2 PhD STUDENTS DISAPPEARED FROM CAMPUS AND 1 STUDENT REMAINED MISSING, THE BARRIED SUSPECT WAS FACED WITH MURDER ALLEGATIONS.
Hisham Abugharbieh was taken into custody and charged with domestic violence – simple battery, domestic violence – false imprisonment, tampering with evidence, failure to report death to the coroner’s office or law enforcement, and unlawfully handling or handling a human corpse in unapproved conditions. According to the file, subsequent searches also raised red flags for deputies. He allegedly asked about changing the vehicle identification number of a car and whether it was legal to have an unlicensed firearm at home.

“Did anyone survive the sniper bullet that hit their head?” reads another query. “Will my neighbors hear my gun?”
Police found Limon’s student ID, glasses and credit cards in a dumpster near the apartment he shared with Abugharbieh. Also found were trash bags, Lysol wipes, Febreze and a CVS receipt for bloody clothing. Deputies later found similar bags under the suspect’s bed, which contained Limon’s body in the dumpster.

Police said the suspect told conflicting stories before obtaining a search warrant for the suspect’s phone. The file also states that they were able to track his car to the Clearwater area using traffic cameras.
Prosecutors wrote that a search of Abugharbieh’s phone revealed that he was on the bridge around 1:30 a.m. on April 17. He allegedly stopped for a few minutes and used the flashlight tool on his phone.

Bristy’s whereabouts were unknown when the bail application was made on Saturday, but authorities found her shoes and purse inside the apartment, according to court documents. On Sunday, deputies recovered another batch of human remains. The Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office was trying to identify these individuals.
The two were reported missing on April 17 after a mutual friend was unable to locate or contact them.

Abugharbieh barricaded himself in a house for more than an hour Friday morning and eventually surrendered to police wearing only a towel, as seen in aerial video of the incident.
Court records show Abugharbieh has a violent past. In addition to the assault and burglary charges in 2023, there were two counts of violence in 2023 and 2025. His mother told deputies he had anger management issues, according to court records. In the 2025 incident, his brother claimed he was punched in the face before Abugharbieh kicked their mother in the back.

“A few days ago, during one of his frequent violent tantrums, he trashed the living room,” the brother wrote, requesting a restraining order. “I live with my mother and [four] It’s his little brothers who don’t want him to come back.”
He faces charges including battery, false imprisonment, tampering with evidence, unlawful transportation of a corpse, failure to report a death and two counts of first-degree murder.

He is being held without bail at the Falkenburg Road Jail near Tampa. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
