Kazakh dancer recounts horrific incident, reveals how she survived Goa nightclub fire

What seemed like fun turned into a tragedy when 25 people lost their lives in a fire at a restaurant in Goa. Kristina, a professional Kazakh belly dancer, was performing in front of revelers when the incident occurred.
As the flames slowly engulfed the venue, the video of Kristina’s performance went viral. In the video, the dancer performing his second show and the crowd can be seen running for safety. Kristina was one of the survivors of the most horrific events in the union territory.
How did the dancer save his life?
The video also includes the first reactions of the panicking crowd to this huge fire. In an interview with India Today TV, Kristina said that she was “grateful to be alive”, as according to her, a crew member’s instruction saved her life. Kristina, the child’s mother, said: ‘A fire broke out due to a short circuit during the screening. I was shocked. The music suddenly stopped and I didn’t know what was happening. “I started looking for the exit,” she said, shaking as she remembered the devastating event. “I was just crying, my hand is still shaking.”
Further detailing how he survived the fatal moment, the dancer said a crew member told him he was against the decision to seek shelter in the green room as soon as he walked towards it, as the fire had already consumed the room.
This warning proved to be a blessing to him as he successfully saved her from the fire. “My first instinct was to go to my locker room. But my team member said, ‘Don’t go there.’ The fire was already there. That saved my life.”
The Kazakh woman, overwhelmed by the seriousness of the situation, compared him to an Indian god. After returning home, she hugged her daughter tightly and was “thankful that she was alive.”
