King is ‘delighted’ as Princess Eugenie announces she is expecting third child with husband Jack Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are ‘delighted’ to expect their third child to be born this summer, Buckingham Palace said today.
Royal aides said the King was “delighted” and that the couple’s sons August, 5, and Ernest, 2, were “very excited” to welcome a little sister or brother into the family.
In the photo shared by Eugenie, Ernest, wearing a Chelsea football jersey, and August, wearing a long-sleeved gray T-shirt, can be seen holding a baby scan picture.
The 36-year-old princess shared the following caption on Instagram: ‘Baby Brooksbank due in 2026!’ followed by a series of red heart emojis and a baby emoji.
In the statement made by Buckingham Palace, the following statements were made: ‘Their Royal Highnesses Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce that they are expecting their third child together this summer.
‘August (aged five) and Ernest (aged two) are also very excited about adding another sibling to the family.
‘His Majesty the King has been informed and is delighted with the news.’
The baby, who will not be HRH, will be born 15th in line to the throne, leaving his great-uncle, the Duke of Edinburgh, 16th in line to the throne.

He is also the late Queen Elizabeth II. He will be Elizabeth’s 15th great-grandchild and the third to be born since her death in 2022.
The new arrival will be Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s fifth grandchild, following the birth of Princess Beatrice’s daughter Athena Mapelli Mozzi in January last year.
Mr Brooksbank celebrated his 40th birthday on Sunday; The King’s nephew celebrated the occasion by sharing photos of his husband relaxing on the beach on Instagram with the caption “Happy 40th birthday my love.”
The couple married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in October 2018 and their first child was born on August 9 February 2021. His younger brother Ernest was born on May 30, 2023.
Eugenie and Jack’s happy announcement comes days after the Daily Mail published exclusive photos of the couple on date night with friends.
Eugenie is known to be a very doting parent who has spoken repeatedly about the joys of motherhood.
But she and her husband of seven years also appeared to enjoy a night without their sons, August and Ernest.

Eugenie also posted an earlier photo of herself with Jack Brooksbank in 2011, a year after they first met.
In Eugenie’s post yesterday, her son August was in the sand with her husband of seven years.
The couple, who split their time between a villa in Portugal and a cottage in Kensington Palace, affectionately call their sons Augie and Ernie.
The mother-of-two looked positively glowing in a long, flowing black dress and khaki shirt as she left Dorian Restaurant in Notting Hill, with Jack wearing jeans, trainers, a dark jacket and a wide smile.
Hours earlier, Beatrice and Eugenie, who have rarely met in public since the Epstein scandal rocked the House of York, were chatting animatedly as they walked through Mayfair near Hanover Square.
An eyewitness said they ‘looked very cheerful as they made the most of the sunlight’.
While her younger York sister led the way wearing a light summer jacket and bag, Beatrice, 37, followed her down a narrow path, clutching her mobile phone.
Tourists strolling through London’s most exclusive district appeared unaware that they were leaving the royal family behind.
A few hours later, Eugenie went out to dinner, her husband leaving their young son at home.
