Malayalam rapper Vedan appears before police for questioning in rape case

Popular Malayalam rapper Hirandas Murali, known by the stage name Vedan, appeared in front of the Thrikakara police in Ernakulam in connection with a sexual assault against him in connection with the probe. Vedan, who was given the guarantee by the Kerala Supreme Court in the case, went to the police station on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 until 10 o’clock.
Inspector Kiran was questioned by the investigation team led by C. Nair.
Before entering the police station, Vedan said he would cooperate with the investigation into the media. However, he refused to comment more about the case.
Vedan was previously reserved by Thrikakara police, based on a complaint filed by a woman who accused him of sexual harassment of sexual harassment under the pretext of a false marriage promise.
Ernakulam central police complained by a female music researcher and recorded a lawsuit against Vedan. In this case, according to the police, the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with the offense of attacking a woman or a criminal force in order to angry her humility, was slapped by chapter 354.
