A man was caught minutes after attacking a 10-year-old girl in a Birmingham bar.
Sean Sewell, 46, was taken into custody on April 8 this year, around 20 minutes after his victim reported being ‘inappropriately touched’ by a man at a city center business.
Sewell, of Newtown, was identified as the perpetrator and was arrested in the area. While detectives questioned him in custody, officers launched further investigations.
They later linked Sewell to an incident on a downtown bus last October; Meanwhile, a woman reported that a man exposed himself to her. Reports Birmingham Live.
Sewell was accused of exposing and sexually assaulting a child.
He pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced to six years and five months in prison at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, July 10.
He will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
Det Con Lewis Harris, of West Midlands Police, said: “We are pleased to see Sewell jailed for his offenses targeting a woman and a young girl.
“We have remained in contact with both of them and they have been kept up to date throughout the investigation as we work to bring Sewell to justice.”
