Nigel Farage has warned that British Jews will live in “secure estates” in the future. The leader of Reform UK was speaking at the launch of his party’s Jewish Alliance this afternoon. In a recording heard by The Express, he said he saw the future while living in Strasbourg when he was an MP.

Mr Farage told attendees: “I have seen what happens in communities when Jewish minorities are attacked and there is no one to defend them.

“The flat I had in Strasbourg, in a beautiful part of Strasbourg, was within walking distance of the European Parliament, a 20-minute walk. I walked most mornings to get rid of the hangover.”

He added: “And I had to go through the area behind a Jewish school… a predominantly Jewish school. And now I go back 12, 13 years, those little kids, four or five years old, were going to school with armed soldiers to protect them.”

“And that was in Strasbourg. You think it’s bad, there’s hardly a single Jew anymore.” [people] He lives in the center of Brussels. This is impossible. The only Jews still living in Brussels are successful lawyers who live in a gated community with 24-hour security. I fear the current state of affairs is the future of the British Jewish community. I’m sorry but I’m not wrong.

“That’s the trend. That’s where we’re going. I’ve seen it happen in Strasbourg. I’ve seen it happen in Brussels. I don’t want it to happen here.”

Mr Farage added that he did not want “special rights” for British Jews, but that “at this particular moment of danger, they will need far more protection than anyone else because they are under direct threat”.

Robert Jenrick also spoke, describing the so-called “hate marches” by pro-Palestinian protesters as “an attack on every single one of us in this country.”

He added: “We want to live in a united and well-integrated, multi-faith, multi-ethnic society. One country under one flag.”

In October, Mr Jenrick was criticized after a recording emerged in which he said he visited an area of Birmingham where he “never saw another white face” and said it was not the kind of country he wanted to live in.

The Conservative defector also noted at today’s event that Reformation was fighting “anti-Semitic and anti-British” forces.

One attendee described the event as “a packed house and powerful speeches about tackling antisemitism, hate marches and the need to defend Jewish life in the UK.”

They added: “Suella Braverman, Robert Jenrick, Richard Tice and Nigel Farage all addressed the room.

“A powerful response to Nigel Farage’s calls to tackle sectarianism and ensure British Jews can live freely and safely.”
