Bangladesh Unrest: Hindu Man Lynched And Burned Over Alleged Blasphemy | World News

Amid escalating violence in Bangladesh, a Hindu man named Deepu Chandra Das was brutally lynched in Bhaluka in Mymensingh district over allegations of blasphemy. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

According to media reports, the incident took place on Thursday night in the Dublia Para area. Das, a garment factory worker who lives in a rented house nearby, Hz. He was accused of making derogatory remarks about Muhammad. Without any evidence or investigation, a mob surrounded him and beat him to death with sticks. The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemned the murder, stating that Deepu Chandra Das was beaten, hanged and burned to death. The party likened the incident to the Murshidabad violence in West Bengal in April 2025, when Hargobind Das (72) and Chandan Das (40) were killed during protests against the Wakf Amendment Bill.

The incident occurred amid widespread unrest in Bangladesh following the death of student leader Sharif Usman Hadi. The protests turned violent in several areas, with reports of arson, vandalism and attacks on media offices and Awami League-affiliated organisations, raising concerns about the safety of minority communities.
