Student–faculty ratio at SSUS under scrutiny

The low student-to-graduate faculty ratio at Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University (SSUS) has come under the scanner.

An evaluation by the union subcommittee found that the low student-to-professional faculty ratio was not financially viable for the university. The current student-teacher ratio was found to be 1:7.95. There are 303 teachers for a total of 2,408 students and the overall teacher-student ratio is 1:7.95. It was stated that this ratio was well below the generally recommended teacher-student ratio and varied between 1:15 and 1:20.
