Wife of ICE shooting victim says ‘I made her come down here’ to confront agents as she breaks down in harrowing footage

The grieving wife of a woman shot and killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Minnesota broke down in tears and blamed herself for the tragedy.

Harrowing images of the scene show the unidentified woman breaking down in tears over the shooting death of 37-year-old poet Renee Nicole Good and admitting she encouraged Good to confront agents.

At one point, she was heard saying, in tears, “I brought her here, it’s my fault.” ‘They just shot my wife.’

Witnesses claimed Good and his wife were acting as legal observers and filming the protest when he was shot three times in the face during a protest in Minneapolis on Wednesday.

But Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, denied reports that her daughter may have been ‘part of something similar’ to protests against ICE at the location where she was killed.

‘This is so stupid,’ he said he told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. ‘Renee was one of the kindest people I have ever known.

‘He was extremely compassionate. He took care of people throughout his life. He was loving, forgiving and compassionate. “He was an amazing person.”

The distraught mother added that her daughter was ‘probably terrified’.

The footage emerged amid tense discourse over who was responsible for the woman’s death, as public officials remain bitterly divided.

Renee Nicole Good, pictured, was named after the woman who was shot and killed by ICE in Minneapolis on Wednesday.

ICE said Good intentionally drove his burgundy SUV into agents; This was a situation disputed by witnesses and even Mayor Jacob Frey called it “bull.”

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called Good’s actions on Wednesday “an act of domestic terrorism” and defended her officer’s actions.

‘One of our officers acted quickly and defensively, firing to protect himself and those around him,’ he said.

He later confirmed that ICE operations were still ongoing in Minnesota despite the controversy.

Deputy Chief JD Vance said agents would ‘work even harder’ after the woman was shot.

‘I want every ICE officer to know that their president, vice president and the entire administration has their back,’ he said.

‘To the radicals who attacked, denounced and threatened them: Congratulations, we will work even harder to enforce the law.’

President Trump called the dead woman a “professional agitator” and claimed she was shot in “self-defense.”

Video from the scene shows Good seemingly ignoring ICE agents demand that he get out of his car and instead put his vehicle in reverse as he tries to drive away.

The video began with the victim blocking the road with his car until ICE agents told him to drive away.

He then turned back to get back on the road while an agent attempted to open the driver’s side door handle before driving off.

Then three gunshots were heard.

His SUV appeared to have a bullet hole in the driver’s side windshield.

Good is a registered voter, but his party affiliation is not listed in public records.

She was a poet and mother of three who grew up in Colorado Springs.

Good was previously married to comedian Timothy Macklin, who died in 2023, and currently lives in Minneapolis with his partner, whose name is not shared.

She and Macklin had a six-year-old son who is now orphaned. “There’s no one else in his life,” his paternal grandfather told the Star-Tribune.

‘I’ll drive. I will fly. ‘To come and get my grandson.’

In the images at the scene, Good’s wife also said that she had a 6-year-old child.

The audience cried out, ‘This is my wife, I don’t know what to do.’

The man who shot the video then asked if he had any friends who could help.

‘I have a six-year-old child at school… we are new here, we have no one,’ he replied.

At that moment a frantic spectator shouted: ‘We need a doctor.’

The man asked if his wife knew any relatives he could call, but she said, ‘I can’t even deal with that right now.’

Later photos of the woman’s car showed children’s toys, including a stuffed animal and a child’s drawing.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said there was nothing to indicate ‘this woman was the target of a law enforcement investigation.’

He was pronounced dead while his wife was taken to the hospital.

Mayor Jacob Frey did not mince words at a news conference Wednesday afternoon. After an agent was seen on video killing a woman who was driving away, he took to the podium and told ICE agents to “get the hell out” of his city.

Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin claimed the woman “used a gun on her vehicle” and described her actions as “an act of domestic terrorism.”

McLaughlin said the ICE agent escalated the situation because he ‘feared for his own life, the lives of his fellow officers, and the safety of the public.’

Describing the gunshots as ‘defensive shots’, the woman said in her statement: ‘He used his training and saved his life and that of his fellow police officers.’

But Mayor Jacob Frey claimed DHS was ‘trying to paint this as an act of self-defense.’

‘This is nonsense,’ he said at a press conference. ‘I have a message for our community, our city, and ICE; To ICE, get the hell out of Minneapolis.’

‘We don’t want you here. ‘Your stated reason for being in this city is security and you are doing the exact opposite.’

Frey emphasized how ‘people are being hurt’ and ‘families are being ripped apart’ by immigration authorities.

‘Longtime Minneapolis residents who have contributed greatly to our city, our culture, our economy are being terrorized, and now some are dead. “It’s your responsibility and it’s your responsibility to leave,” he said.

The FBI and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are currently investigating the shooting.

Meanwhile, Governor Tim Walz called DHS’s narrative “propaganda” and asked his citizens to “remain calm.”

“The State will ensure a full, fair and prompt investigation to ensure accountability and justice,” he wrote on Twitter.

‘Don’t believe this propaganda machine.’

His remarks came as protesters gathered near the scene of the shooting, some of whom were seen throwing snowballs at ICE officers.

Others took to the streets waving flags reading ‘FTP’, meaning ‘F**k The Police’. Some were seen burning the American flag, while others were seen holding it upside down.

Videos shared online also showed ICE and other federal agents firing tear gas and pepper spray at protesters.

Walz has since warned that the Minnesota National Guard is preparing to deploy to Minneapolis.

‘We have soldiers in training and ready to deploy if necessary,’ he said.

‘They’re the teachers in your community, they’re the business owners, they’re the construction professionals, they’re Minnesotans.

‘Minnesota will not allow our community to be used as support in a national political struggle. We won’t take the bait.’

He then directly addressed President Donald Trump and U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

‘You’ve done enough. “We don’t need any more help from the federal government,” he said.

‘What we are seeing are the results of management designed to create fear, headlines and conflict.’

Turning his attention to the protesters, Walz asked for peace.

‘I’m saying this. I feel your anger. I’m angry. They want to show it, we can’t give it to them. We can’t. If you are protesting and expressing your first amendment rights, please do so peacefully as you always have. “We can’t give them what they want,” he said.

Meanwhile, Trump described the dead driver on Truth Social as ‘very erratic’ and someone who ‘brutally ran over the ICE Officer.’

‘The woman screaming was clearly a professional agitator and the woman driving was very disorganized, obstructing and resisting; “He then violently, willfully and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who appeared to have shot him in self-defense,” he wrote.

‘Looking at the attached clip it’s hard to believe he’s alive but he’s currently recovering in hospital.’

The president appeared to blame ‘radical left’ rhetoric for the attack.

“The situation is being fully investigated, but these events are occurring because the Radical Left threatens, attacks, and targets our Law Enforcement and ICE Agents every day,” he wrote.

‘They’re just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We must stand with this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate and protect our Law Enforcement!’
