Wild vision of allegedly stolen car before teen’s arrest

Wild vision showed an allegedly stolen car being chased by a Queensland Police helicopter across the Gold Coast and Logan before a teenager was arrested at a home in Woodridge.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged over the incident, which stretched from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast in about 24 hours.

Police allege an unidentified man broke into a home on Minyama Jessica Avenue on the Sunshine Coast late on Friday night, then stole the keys to a blue Mustang and fled in the car.

The vehicle was spotted in the Gold Coast and Logan on Saturday and captured by a police helicopter.

Police deflated the car’s tires in Underwood, stopped the car, and it was abandoned in the Kingston Road car park.

Police footage showed several people getting out of the vehicle and getting into another vehicle after the vehicle stopped.

The 15-year-old was arrested a short time later at a home in Woodridge.

He is charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is expected to appear in Beenleigh Children’s Court on Monday.
