Woman left with glass in eyes after bricks thrown at cars from highway overpass
Shocking photos revealed the massacre when a group of young people threw bricks at cars from a highway overpass, leaving glass shards in a woman’s eyes.
Initial investigations indicate the bricks were thrown from an overpass on the Princes Highway in the south-east Melbourne suburb of Springvale on Saturday morning by three teenagers.
Five cars were damaged; Photos released by Victoria Police show holes punched in windshields and glass scattered around cars.
The woman, who had a brick thrown at the car she was in, was intervened by medical teams.
Tires of some other cars burst due to the debris.
Detective Senior Constable Simon Jacobs said these actions could have fatal consequences.
“The outcome could have been much worse, we are extremely fortunate that only one person sustained minor injuries,” Officer Jacobs said.
“I strongly urge those responsible to come forward, take responsibility for their actions and show some compassion to the injured person.”
No arrests were made.
