Only 2 celebs make it through end of brutal “Special Forces” finale: ‘Bonded for life’

fourth season Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Challenge It was filled with former NFL and NBA players, but the winner was a former Olympic gymnast and influencer.

Shawn Johnson East and Gia Giudice were two of the five contestants who made it to the season 4 finale. Sister WivesKody Brown; Johnson East’s husband, former football player Andrew East; and Giudice’s fellow influencer Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.

The task at hand focused on the recruits’ ability to stay mentally strong.

Directors decided Andrew East and Kody Brown didn’t make it after bringing in professional interrogators to interrogate the celebrities, who stayed up for nearly 24 hours during a simulated capture behind enemy lines. They had to stick to the prepared stories and never say they were in the army.

During Andrew East’s interrogation of why he was where he was and who he was with, he told the interrogator that he thought there had been a mistake and that it wasn’t very welcome.

“No, no, no, no, no,” the East was told. “Let me tell you something. You made a mistake, son.”

As DS watched the proceedings unfold on a nearby monitor, Rudy Reyes said East “had no idea how to read the room or apply some of the basic principles of training.” They also didn’t like his inability to stand up to his fellow recruits during the mission.

Shortly after, the armband was removed and DS stated that he “did not implement the tactics and training described to you in this part of the course.”

Next was Brown, who DS detected doing the same thing.

But LaPaglia took it further. He voluntarily withdrew just 10 minutes into the course, as the narrator said. What stopped him was the last thing recruits were asked to do: step into the coffin and experience the simulation of being buried alive.

“No, no, no. You can’t do this to me. Okay, yes I lied,” he said before revealing his identity. “I’m here with Special Forces.”

A few minutes later, Johnson East and Giudice were told they had passed not just this phase of the course, but the entire experience.

“I can’t believe we did this,” Giudice said before hugging her co-star.

“Shawn and I will be stuck together for life,” Giudice, who struggled earlier in the show, said in a confessional. “We completed the selection. I really didn’t think I could do it. I knew that I had to persevere and strive for myself, my family and also most importantly DS, because they really believed in me.”

It was also a big moment for Johnson East.

“They really pull out the core of people and it’s a very humbling experience,” said the gymnast, who was told by DS that she needed to be less robotic, a habit she picked up in gymnastics. “I’ve learned that you can’t just ignore the world and get work done. You have to be able to balance both.”
