Rob Reiner’s classic movies and television work are available to stream on Tubi

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, were found dead in their home in Brentwood, California, on December 14.
The beloved actor and director gained national attention in 1971 when he began portraying the character Meathead in “All in the Family.” Following his time on the program, he became one of Hollywood’s most prolific directors.
During his more than 50 years in the industry, Reiner has worked on many classic films and television shows, from “The Wolf of Wall Street” to “More than Friends.”

‘It’s All in the Family’

Reiner played the role of Meathead in “All in the Family”. (Tubi)
Reiner got his big break when he starred as Michael Stivic, “Meathead,” in “All in the Family,” opposite Carroll O’Connor, Sally Struthers and Jean Stapleton.
The series revolved around a conservative working-class couple living in New York City and raising a liberal daughter. Reiner is introduced in the first episode as the liberal boyfriend of the couple’s daughter.
Throughout the show, Reiner and O’Connor’s characters clash on nearly every issue, including civil rights, immigration, and religion, but they also share moments of vulnerability and love.
The hit sitcom, created by Norman Lear, aired on CBS for nine seasons from 1971 to 1979, with Reiner choosing to leave the show at the end of its eighth season in 1978.
‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

The 2013 movie “The Wolf of Wall Street” was about the real life story of Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker in New York in the 1990s.
In the film, Reiner plays Max Belfort, the father of the main character played by Leonardo DiCaprio. As Jordan’s father, his character served as a moral counterpoint to Jordan, who was completely immersed in the corruption and greed that came with being a stockbroker.
“When he sees his son getting out of a difficult situation, he tries to restrain him, but to no avail,” Reiner said. The film earned five Academy Award nominations, including best picture and best leading actor.

‘Shock and Awe’

The film stars Woody Harrelson and James Marsden as two real-life journalists who “challenged the accusation of ‘weapons of mass destruction’ being used as a pretext for war” when launching the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.

‘More than friends’

Reiner wrote the movie “More Than Friends” based on his romance with Penny Marshall. (Tubi)
Reiner and Penny Marshall wrote the popular 1978 TV movie “More than Friends,” which chronicled the progression of their romantic relationship.
The story follows two friends, Alan and Matty, played by Reiner and Marshall, as they decide whether they should remain “just friends” or take the next step in their relationship.
The film is loosely based on the real-life relationship between Reiner and Marshall, who were married for ten years, from 1971 to 1981.

“The Magic of Belle Isle” is a family-friendly film directed by Reiner in 2012.
The film follows former novelist Monte Wildhorn, played by Morgan Freeman, whose life slowly begins to change when he moves to Belle Isle for the summer.
After meeting and befriending a single mother and her three daughters, Wildhorn begins to open up and regains her passion for writing.
